Personalizing GYMKA: Themes, Layout, Language and iPhone Extras

Make GYMKA yours: light and dark themes, accent colours, hiding widgets and tabs you do not use, switching language, share-card styling, and the iPhone-only features.

No two people use a training app the same way. GYMKA leans on that: most screens have an Edit control that lets you switch off anything you do not want, and the choices follow your account across devices.

Theme and appearance

Settings → Appearance covers the look:

  • Light or dark mode.
  • An accent colour that carries through buttons, highlights and charts.
  • A transparent interface option, which gives cards and panels a frosted-glass finish.
  • Reset to Default, which puts everything back if you have wandered somewhere ugly.

Hiding what you do not use

Three separate customizers, each behind an Edit link on the screen it controls:

  • Dashboard — hide the progress card, or hide whole tabs (History, Body, Calc, Calories) you never open. Log always stays.
  • Workouts — turn off the session progress bar, rest timers, quick-adjust buttons, target badges or exercise notes.
  • Cardio — turn off the weekly summary, the Track Run or Log Cardio buttons, the Apple Health and Steps panels, or turn on a preview of recent sessions.

Nothing is deleted when you hide it. Switching a tab back on brings all its data with it, so there is no risk in stripping the app down to what you actually use.

Language

GYMKA is available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Mandarin and Russian, switchable in Settings → Appearance. Arabic switches the whole interface to right-to-left. Anything not yet translated falls back to English rather than showing a blank.

Share cards

Settings → Share Card controls how your lift images look — background, tint, theme, or your own uploaded image. The setting applies to every card you generate afterwards, for both lifts and cardio sessions.

On iPhone

The native iOS app adds a few things the web version cannot do:

  • Apple Health — two-way sync. GYMKA writes your workouts and GPS routes to Health, and reads steps, distance, active energy, exercise time, heart rate and bodyweight. Each data type is opted into individually in Settings → Health.
  • Live step counting and step history, straight from the motion coprocessor, with no Health connection required.
  • Rest-timer notifications that fire even with the app closed or the phone locked.
  • Alternate app icons — the G mark or the full GYMKA lockup, in sage, midnight, cream or amber.

None of it is required. The web app on your home screen covers the whole core of GYMKA; the iPhone extras are convenience on top.

Put it into practice

GYMKA logs every set, estimates your 1-rep max, and shows your strength tier for each lift automatically. It is free to start.
