Community, Your Public Profile and Privacy Controls

How GYMKA's community works, what your public profile shows, how to add social links, and exactly which privacy controls you have — including blocking, reporting and deleting your account.

GYMKA has a social side, but it is opt-in by design. Nothing about your training is public until you decide it is. This guide covers what the community offers and every control you have over your own visibility.

What is in the Community tab

  • Chat — the shared conversation, including group chats.
  • Ranks — the leaderboards, built on per-exercise calibrated tiers.
  • Messages — direct conversations with other lifters.

Once you have logged a lift you unlock a mastery tag, a small badge shown beside your name in chat that reflects your strength tier.

Your public profile

Every account has a profile page at /u/ plus your user ID. What it shows depends on one switch in Settings → Privacy & Social:

  • Private (the default) — visitors see your username, picture, level and follower counts, and nothing else.
  • Public — your body map, best lifts, total sessions and stats become visible too.

Follower and following counts, and the ability to follow or message you, exist either way. The toggle governs your training data.

Social links

The same Privacy & Social screen lets you add optional links to Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Strava or your own website. Tap a platform, paste your profile link or type your handle, and it appears as an icon on your profile.

Each link has its own show-on-profile switch, so you can keep one saved without publishing it. GYMKA stores only the handle and rebuilds the link itself, which means a profile can never link somewhere unexpected.

Blocking and reporting

Any user-posted content can be reported, and any user can be blocked — blocking hides their content from you and stops them contacting you. Reports go to a moderation queue that is actually reviewed. GYMKA's terms carry a zero-tolerance policy for abusive content, and accounts that post it are removed.

Your data, and deleting it

Settings → Account holds account deletion. It is a genuine cascade: your lifts, routines, cardio sessions, meals, messages, profiles and account record are all removed, not flagged as hidden. The full detail of what is stored and why is in the privacy policy, linked from Settings → Support & Info.

If you want the training benefits and none of the social side, leave the profile private and never open Community. Every feature in the app works exactly the same.

Put it into practice

GYMKA logs every set, estimates your 1-rep max, and shows your strength tier for each lift automatically. It is free to start.
